Last night the team of Sarah, Jay, Becky Loxley and Carol won 3 rubbers to 1 at Woodfield.
Sarah and Becky played srongly as 1st couple to win their first rubber , while Carol and Jay managed to relinquish a lead of 4-1 in the first set to lose their rubber against a couple who became more and more confident at the net.
Jay's half - time team talk must have worked as she and Carol came back to win the next rubber 7-5, 6-2. While Sarah and Becky played out a close rubber to win a nail- biting 3rd set tie breaker.
Thanks to Gary for bringing Becky and being our No 1 supporter and also to Jay who stepped in at the last minute after major re-scheduling( Carl- your a star!!)

The Ladies Second team of Becky Loxley and Jay and Carol Hill and Linda also won against Longden by 7 games.
The spectators bench was full to capacity that night with Carol and Alan , the non- playing captain from Town Walls, and an excellent representation from the Loxley family.
The partisan crowd must surely have played a part and both teams managed to make it to the pub before the need of floodlights!
