Another match report which took place last week away Welti 1 which we lost 3-1. First pair
was James/Gary who beat the Welti first pair 2-1 but lost to the second pair 2-0. Ivor/Dean were 5-2 down in the first set but came back well to 5all had break point but could not clinch
it in the end losing 7-5 6-4. They then lost to the first pair 2 and 3.
Ivor played better than he did on Monday due to him playing a lot on the Welti indoor courts.
2 more matches to play, High Ercall this Friday and and Boughy Gardens on the 2nd Aug.

I am looking for two players for this last match, anyone interested let me know.

A home match vs Boughy Gardens on the 11th July in group1. We have had no matches for a while, we will have three more to play after this one.
James/Gary were in sparkling form in this match, they beat the first pair in 2sets and also the 2nd pair losing only 13 games in total
Ivor/Dean lost both their 2 rubbers but managed to win the first set which was a 10pt tie-break,
but it did mean a winning draw 5 sets 4 and our first win.
Ivor/Dean made too many unforced errors, Ivor was struggling with both his serve and ground
strokes which will punished by the opposition.

Our first match was against our old foe Welti 1 at home on 20th April.When I saw who there
team were I thought we are in with a chance, even though one played for shropshire and one
used to play for staffs.
James/Gary beat the first pair in 3sets,Ivor/Dean beat the county second pair also in 3sets
by mixing up the game,short/long/wide/lobs, we were 2up.The second 2 rubbers we colapsed,
James/Gary lost 3-6 3-6 against the second pair,Ivor/Dean lost 4-6 3-6 against the first pair.
Result 2-2 lost 6sets to 4.

Match vs Shifnal1away on 5th May, we again 2 rubbers all lost 5 sets to 4 to a strong team
with county capt.Ian Gillespie.James /Gary played very well won both their matches but dropped a set against the first pair.Ivor/Dean tried hard but made to many unforced errors.
James /Gary really excelled in their second match against a very lively young pair winning in 2sets.

Match against High Ercall 1 at home on 16th May.
H/Ercall have won all their first 3 matches and had a strong team out including 3 county over
35s. James/Gary beat the first pair in 3sets, and in the second match were leading 5-2 in the final tie/break but lost it in the end.
Ivor/Dean played to the windy conditions against the two 35s and were 4-4 in the first set,
missed e few chances but lost it finally 6-4 and 6-3 in final set.And in their second match
went down 6-3 6-2.
Summary.
So far the matches have been very close and the guys have been playing well,and when you
consider the league matches are the only good matchplay they have, compaired to bigger
clubs they have done very well.
We are still looking for one or even two players for the first team.
