Mens 3's v Worfield3
The thirds rounded their season off with an enjoyable 2-2 winning draw against
Worfield 3 . Phil and Dave clinched the all important 3rd set to earn 6 points and promotion. The other pair were Ray and Saddaqa.

Mens 1's v Shrewsbury4
This is the result of our last match at home against Shrewsbury 4 played on the 21st July. I am glad to say we won 3-1 and therefore won all our matches and coming top of group4. Although when I came back to the club at the finish of the first two rubbers we were one game in front only, then I started to worry. But after a team talk the team responded well and won the next two rubbers, Garry/James winning 6-0 6-0. The team in this match were Gary Loxley, James Priestley, Carl Chung and Tim Byrne. I would like to thank all the players in the squad, well done guys, and I will be in touch for the end of season get together. Ivor Baldwin - Team Capt.

Mens 4's v Alveley3 - 4th Team debut for promising Juniors 4-0
A badly depleted 4th team squad, decimated by illness, injury and lack of commitment (going on holiday), was bolstered by the introduction of Alex Dale (16 guess) and Sam Doody (12). Teams: Mark Nicholls & Alex Dale(1) Paul Doody & Sam Doody(2).

Mark and Alex won both rubbers 6-4 6-3 (1) and 7-6 6-4 (2). They played so well one opponent smashed his racket to bits. I lent him my spare. Was that wise?
Sam and I had a bit of a battle on our hands winning both rubbers 6-7 6-4 10-4 (2)
and 4-6 7-5 10-2 (1). Phew!

Both Juniors showed tremendous spirit and plenty of talent. Alex saved Marks legs and Sam and I didn't argue once. They were a credit to the club and are looking forward to more league tennis next year.

The win was a splendid end to a difficult season, topped off with superb French Chef Sandwiches (Cock Hotel take note!) and some rather lovely frites, even if they did pull a face when asked for tomato sauce.

Mens 2's v Longdon3
Wrekin 2 continued thier losing form with a 3-1 defeat at Longden despite some close matches 3 of which went to a 10pt tie-break. Winning just one of these would have secured our position in the current league, so there is now a chance we will swap positions with the 3rd team for the first time!
Teams: Trevor & Howard, Joey and Martin

girls u18 match against Cound B at home
After making a winning start two weeks ago the girls came back down to earth, loosing
3-0 to Cound B team. Rebecca Brown won the first set 6-1 playing really well in her singles match. Then started to push the ball into play and then lost her confidence. Lost the second set, was 4pts ahead in the 10point tie-break had match point and still lost the tie break12-10 and the match. Lauren Poole lost her match in 2 sets.
